Porthole
At the beginning of 2006 I visited the Georgia Aquarium in downtown Atlanta. It’s an incredible place with the centrepiece being the gigantic cold water tank. The porthole in this photo looks into the giant tank and was taken on my old Sony F707.
Tribal Dancer
Taken in September 2005 using a Sony F707.
This was one of my first attempts at using artificial lighting in a photograph. I didn’t have any strobes or any other kind of studio lighting so I just used a poseable floor light which has three small spots that allowed me to create a dramatic look.
CDG
I thought I’d start this blog off with some old photos. This one was taken at Charles de Gaulle airport back in December 2002 on a Sony F707. I hadn’t been taking photos for long. I’d had a nasty Casio digital camera previously which took photos so low in quality I had to heavily process them to mask the fact but with the Sony I could take photos without hours in Photoshop afterwards. At the beginning of my photographic journey it was very much structure and geometry that caught my eye and this photo reflects that.
As time passes I tend to fall out of love with my photos but this one has remained one of my favourites.
